Episcopic Illuminator - ECI306 (LIT5457)
Introduction:
The LED Episcopic illuminator (EPI), which may also be used with sub-stage
illumination, provides coaxial surface illumination and is used for illuminating
surface features, blind holes, etc.

Assembly
The images below show the Episcopic illuminator fitted to an EVOCam II, but the same fitting instructions also apply to Vision Engineering’s other mono digital products.
Fitting the objective lens
For an objective lens with dovetail: While holding the objective lens ❶ in position, use the HEX key supplied to secure the lens by tightening the grub screw ❷.
Do not over tighten the grub screw holding the lens in place.
For an objective lens with a bayonet: Fit in the usual way referring to the
user guide for the EVO Cam head as needed.
Fitting the adapter ring
Position the adapter ring ❶ over the objective lens ❷ with the ball-joint feature ❸ to the rear of the EVO Cam II ❹.
Secure the adapter ring using the thumbscrew ❺.
Do not over tighten the thumbscrew holding the adapter ring in place.
Fitting the episcopic illuminator
Fully loosen the EPI thumbscrew ❶ and locate the illuminator ❷ over the ball-joint feature ❸.
Ensuring the EPI thumbscrew is towards the rear of the head as shown, tighten the thumbscrew.
Do not over tighten the thumbscrew holding the EPI illuminator in place.
Power connection
To use the dedicated power supply provided, proceed as follows:
Plug the power supply ❶ into a suitable mains outlet and the power supply’s output ❷ into the rear of the EPI illuminator.
To avoid damaging the unit, DO NOT use any other power supply than the one provided. The use of any other power supply will invalidate the warranty and may compromise safe operation and EMC performance.

Warranty
This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one year from the date of invoice to the original purchaser.
If during the warranty period the product is found to be defective, it will be repaired or replaced at facilities of Vision Engineering or elsewhere, all at the option of Vision Engineering. However, Vision Engineering reserves the right to refund the purchase price if it is unable to provide replacement, and repair is not commercially practicable or cannot be timely made. Parts not of Vision Engineering manufacture carry only the warranty of
their manufacturer.
Expendable components such as fuses carry no warranty.
This warranty does not cover damage in transit, damage caused by misuse, neglect, or carelessness, or damage resulting from either improper servicing or modification by other than Vision Engineering approved service personnel. Further, this warranty does not cover any routine maintenance work on the product described in the user guide or any minor maintenance work which is reasonably expected to be performed by the purchaser.
No responsibility is assumed for unsatisfactory operating performance due to environmental conditions such as humidity, dust, corrosive chemicals, deposition of oil or other foreign matter, spillage, or other conditions beyond the control of Vision Engineering.
Except as stated herein, Vision Engineering makes no other warranties, express or implied by law, whether for resale, fitness for a particular purpose or otherwise. Further, Vision Engineering shall not under any circumstances be liable for incidental, consequential or other damages.
Servicing
Repairs may only be carried out by Vision Engineering trained service personnel.
Only original Vision Engineering spare parts may be used.

Do not look directly at the illuminated LEDs. This may cause damage to eyesight.
