Contrast Enhancing Base - TMB001
Overview
The Contrast Enhancing Base from Vision Engineering makes the invisible visible. The optically tuned illumination enables users to see details that are not visible with other light sources and not with the naked eye. Control of intensity, angle and iris allows otherwise invisible edges to be highlighted, textures and interfaces to be seen and captured in two or three dimensions.
Key features
- Enhances 3D view of hard to see subjects.
- Control of light to highlight edges and key details within the subject.
- Adjust shutter, angle of illumination and intensity to optimise the image for any type of subject.
Multi system compatibility
The Contrast Enhancing Base is a multi-system accessory and is compatible with all Vision Engineering inspection systems.
- Lynx EVO
- DRV-Z1
- Mantis
- EVOCam
- SX Elite
- SX CMO
Other systems where the unit can be placed below the optical path.
Dimensions
- Weight 1.4Kg
- Size: Depth 216mm

Controls & connections
❶ Dimmer control
Adjusts the amount of illumination.
❷ Illumination direction control
Used to alter the angle of illumination giving a pseudo dark field illumination effect.
❸ DC power in
A separate power supply to be supplied with this unit.
❹ Power On/Off switch
❺ Iris control
Used to provide more depth information in dark field.
Viewing alignment setup
Rectangular Viewing Equipment
- Align equally & centrally over illuminating area.
- Use the shape of the stage plate to centre the alignment.
- For digital systems: zoom so what is shown on the screen just includes the corner of the circle. If the corners are even the base is centred. Zoom in or out as required.
- For optical systems: zoom so the base plate closely matches the circular stage plate. If the surround is even the base is centred. Zoom in or out as required.
Circular Viewing Equipment
- Align equally & centrally over illuminating area.
- Use the shape of the stage plate to centre the alignment.
- For digital systems: zoom so what is shown on the screen just includes the corner of the circle. If the corners are even the base is centred. Zoom in or out as required.
- For optical systems: zoom so the base plate closely matches the circular stage plate. If the surround is even the base is centred. Zoom in or out as required.
